GoPro, Cameras and Such

Motorcycles, The Lonely Motorcyclist

I decided to lash and purchase a GoPro Motorsport package for my trip to the EU. It cost hardly anything, is quite well equipped, and arrived in no time at all. I've fitted it with a 32 GB SD card, and have completed some tests, the results of which can be seen here on my youtube channel thingy:

In short, the GoPro rocks! The vision is great, the sound is bearable, however the storage can be quite large. At 1080p @ 25 fps the GoPro will use about 100 MB of storage for every minute of vision shot, which stacks up quite a bit after a 30 minute ride.

Here's a short video shot from a Yamaha FZX 250 Zeal, riding from Hawthorn into the City. The camera is mounted on the tank with the suction cup provided in the Motorsport Hero packge.

Here's a short video shot from a Honda VTR-250, riding from Hawthorn East to Hawthorn. The camera is mounted on the side of my helmet using one of the stick-on curved helmet mounts provided in the Motorsport Hero packge.

In addition to this, I'll be taking a Sony DSC-TX1 for casual shots. I've attached some shots below that have been resized down (and then further crunched again). The TX1 is a good, solid camera, just make sure you have yours completely charged before going anywhere, as the large display really chews through your battery.
